Requiem for a Dream -- It's Been Awhile

Hey there

It's been sometime since my last post. I've been taking care of some things.

I did however have the opportunity of viewing Requiem for a Dream. This movie came out in 2000, but I didn't see it until just now. (I would of been 10 when that movie came out, so I probably wouldn't of understood it much anyway, or cared). This movie sucks you in, and here's a warning: It's incredibly depressing.

(but awesome)

I won't go into too much detail about the movie, you should just see it yourself. Basically though, the movie revolves around the lives of 4 individuals in Coney Island. All 4 live their own drug induced lives. You see these characters and how the drugs affect them. Their addictions get stronger and eventually, too strong.
Check it out.

Pleasantville

So , I just watched this movie for the first time last night and I have to say: wow.
I was not expecting much going into the movie, but I was captivated from the start. Basically the movie starts with two teens (Toby Macguire and Reese Witherspoon). They fight over the remote control and it ends up breaking. Afterwards a convenient "T.V repair man" give them a new remote.

This remote sucks the 2 teens into the show "Pleasantville"
This is where the movie starts to get interesting. People in pleasantville all follow the same routine day after day, and if that routine is broken, some members fail to function. Basically every in pleasantville lives a happy lie (the show starts off in black and white I should add)

When these 2 kids come, they end up breaking their entire system. Reese witherspoon introduces sex to pleasantville, and everything goes to shit. These people start thinking for themselves and eventually you see a little bit of segregation in the movie. A lot of stores put up signs (No coloreds), people who have color start to get mugged.

Things in pleasantville aren't so pleasant anymore. If you have some time to kill, you should really check this movie out. Near the end of the movie everyone starts to become "colored" and I think theres some hidden symbolism behind that. That;s up for interpretation though.

Splinter Cell Conviction

So, over the last few days me and my roommate we're looking for some good, split-screen multiplayer fun.

During this, I've come to a realization. A lot of splitscreen multiplayer games (that aren't AAA blockbusters) suck. Is it just me or have developers stopped completely caring about local multiplayer?

Some of us do have friends outside of the internet.

Fortunately, Ubisoft has our backs on this one with Splinter Cell Conviction.

This game isn't really new at all, but I have to say it's a fantastic game. The action is paced fast enough to keep you interested, but slow enough to make you feel like a badass operative of the third echelon.

The game may be short, but co-op is incredibly fun with a friend. Throw in a great SP and you have a mix for a fantastic game. If you haven't yet, check out Splinter Cell Conviction

Not new at all - Deroit Rock City

Not a new movie at all, but a classic indefinitely. Detroit rock city came out in 1999 and is considered to be one of the best movies ever made (ever).

You yourself have seen it, but if you have the time, you should go give it another watch.

I got around to watching it again last night on Netflix (Awesome, by the way), and I had a blast. If you have some time to kill, WATCH IT AGAIN

Possibly a third time after that.
